TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST/NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

PLUMMER SLADE, INC. is an IT Solutions and Managed Service Provider located in downtown Pittsburgh.  For over 30 years, Plummer Slade has been providing high quality IT solutions and services to small to medium businesses in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area.

We are looking for a full-time, technical professional to join our technical team.  This is a full-time, salaried position with Plummer Slade.  We are not an IT placement firm.  We provide excellent benefits, which include, health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance, 401K, paid PTO days, parking lease benefit, annual salary reviews and bonuses, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Install new file servers, pc’s, firewalls, routers, switches, WAP’s, backups, printers
  • Maintain and support existing file servers, pc’s, firewalls, routers, switches, WAP’s, printers
  • Provide technical support via phone, email, remote, on-site for clients
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Work with patch management & monitoring software
  • Manage patches/updates, install third party patches and updates to client environment
  • Resolve patch issues with patch installations
  • Monitor backup jobs daily and troubleshoot/remediate any issues
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree preferred, but not required
  • Three+ years of professional technical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent follow-up skills.
  • Proven knowledge of troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong background in client service and support
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with technical issues
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Ability to be a technical resource to other team members
  • Ability to follow operating procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Ability to multitask
Technical Experience:
  • Experience with installing and maintaining file servers and pc’s
  • Windows Server 2012/2016 administration
  • Active Directory administration and support
  • Group Policy administration and support
  • TCP/IP networking, including DNS and DHCP
  • MS Exchange administration and support
  • Experience with server backup solutions
  • Expert knowledge of device manager and computer hardware
  • Experience implementing firewalls, routers, switches, WAP’s
  • Experience with spyware and virus removal
